About NACK
The Penn State College of Engineering has been a national leader in nanotechnology education and workforce development since 1998, when the Pennsylvania (PA) Nanofabrication Manufacturing Technology (NMT) Partnership was established at the Penn State Center for Nanotechnology Education and Utilization (CNEU) with support from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. The PA NMT program's mission was and remains enabling PA to meet the growing needs of Pennsylvania industry for skilled micro- and nanofabrication workers.
From 2001 to 2008 the Penn State CNEU was also home to the National Science Foundation (NSF) Regional Center for Nanofabrication Manufacturing Education, sponsored by the NSF Advanced Technological Education (ATE) program.
In 2008 the National Center for Nanotechnology Applications and Career Knowledge (NACK) was established at CNEU through the NSF ATE program as a successor to the Regional Center.
The materials and resources offered by NACK at Nano4Me have grown out of CNEU's 12 years of experience in nanotechnology education at the 2-year and 4-year degree level.
