Promotion and Recruitment Committee

NACK Center and its partners have assembled a committee responsible for promotion and recruitment, chaired by Dr. Ed Franklin of the Arkansas Association of Two-Year Colleges and NACK Center member representative Bob Ehrmann.

The goal of the committee is to promote educational and career opportunities for individuals in micro- and nanofabrication. This includes current and potential students, incumbent workers, industry personnel, as well as members from academia in a wide breadth of disciplines.

Committee Goals

  • Review ongoing student recruitment activities of community and technical college micro- and nanotechnology programs
  • Jointly devise and implement new, uniform strategies.
  • Assess impacts and refine strategies accordingly.

Nano Applications in Today’s World
September 24th 2010

Nanotechnology has often been thought of as playing a key role in the next industrial revolution. Nanotechnology is not an industry; it is an enabling technology that is impacting a growing number of industry sectors, which now include electronics, biotechnology, biomedicine, pharmaceuticals, and many others. Yet, many people still have no idea what nanotechnology is. Join us to discover why it is critically important that today's students (tomorrow's future) and instructors have a better understanding of nanotechnology and of its far-reaching implications - or risk the loss of the competitive opportunities available.
